Hi i am currently on a mission to get my engine back in my car as im off over Christmas hence i need a quick hand ....

Engines all ready bar the flywheel , I go to fit it (Tiger lightened flywheel ) and socket just keeps slipping of the bolts i cant even get 10nm let alone 120 nm ....

Turns out after a quick search that this is a design floor .. Some say use washers some say don't as its dangerous

I thought ill use the washers be ok untill i saw this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L2pz1PkhAo8 i like my legs so i want it done properly no risks ....

This link about half way down thew page shows you what i need doing http://www.toyne.org.uk/kc-mods-engine.html

Cheers

Have to be within reasonable driving distance of cw5

So what you require then is a socket with the outside turned down a bit.

I'm not that close, about 45mins and also in Dubai till Friday, but have a lathe so could help
if you get really stuck.

I thought its the bolt seats on the flywheel that need machining bigger?
Ive got the kit to do it but it would be a PITA

I have solved the problem, Not the brightest idea ever but i found a spark plug socket witch was not as thick as the normal ones but still wouldn't go on the bolt right

i threw it on the floor in frustration ..... Then i noticed the angle grinder

I butchered the end of the socket with the grinder so the end of the socket was very thin and i managed to touqe my bolt all to 112nm witch im told is right ..

That will do me for today im going to have my Christmas dinner and a few beers ..... Hope your all having a good Christmas also
