Love the web cam idea- was something I considered at first. At my rate of progress though people would think it was broken!

For goodness sake cover the screen/keyboard with something. Angle grindings ruin glass better than anything else- as I can attest to from the double glazing around my garage... and my Mum's Peugeot windscreen! Powder in the keyboard will knacker it too.
As will metal grindings/filling in the monitor air vents. Come to think of it I blew up my g/friends TV which I was keeping in the garage after getting grindings in it then turning it on!

Cheers,

James

P.S. Best thing I did with my garage to make the build easier was clean/tidy it and fit a bunch of strip lights. You can't beat being able to see properly!

Why not cast your chassis from the spare cement

Wish I still had my SIP MIG... The Clarke insurance replacement is poor in comparison.

It's not cement after about 2 months. It then becomes landfill due to its changed properties . Or it's ballast to make up corner weights for handling adjustment, honest.
I helped a mate repair his SIP welder the other day. He had melted his liner and stuffed the gun. When it was done we tried it out and he said it had never been as good. I thought how crap it was compared to my Erfi, I suppose it's what you get used to.

I've got a Clarke 151.

P.S. this is my 600th post

twinturbo - 19/8/04 at 11:24 AM

The clarke has a habit of jamming the wire, overheating the tip??? and is generealy not as nice..

Old Sip Migmate 130DP Turbo
New Clark 135TE

It was an anoyance too as I hade asked for the SIP from the insurer and was not expecting a Clarke..

Still the overall insurance replacement package was GOOD..

Nice to recive 3K worth of new tools in one go
