JoelP - 23/8/04 at 05:43 PM

the joys of chassis building!

i'd almost forgotten how fun it was/is!

i'll be working on a new chassis in a few months

Graceland - 23/8/04 at 05:56 PM

i enjoyed building the chassis last time - thought it was a right laff

andyps - 23/8/04 at 08:00 PM

I think you said last time, but where did you get the steel from - that looks a really good price and I hope to order mine soon.

Graceland - 23/8/04 at 08:07 PM

got it from K-Steel at Lockwook, huddersfield

the biggest stockholder of mild steel in the area, only thing they dont do is seamless steampipe - no problem tho

should have a chassis by monday all being well.....

Lazy git, i want an engine running and fitted at the very least.

Graceland - 23/8/04 at 09:33 PM

i've gotta find my donor car yet - that could take a month

James - 23/8/04 at 11:34 PM

Hadn't realised you'd sold that DOHC engine you had.

Was looking forward to seeing that run as it's first one I know being put in a Locost.

You gonna go for same thing again?

Atleast that month will give you time to sort that mouldy garage of yours out!
Lick of paint here and there!

Cheers,
James

Graceland - 24/8/04 at 07:16 PM

i like my ford V6 lumps tho - get complicated and use a 2.5 duratec lol

or easy and 2.9 cologne

ChrisW - 25/8/04 at 01:47 PM

Which one are you using Paul? I have the 2.8 Cologne in my Viento and wondering about a 2.5 Duratec for another project...

Chris

Graceland - 25/8/04 at 03:34 PM

am gonna be sinsible chris and use the cologne

that way i know it'll run, hehehe - duratec is unknown for running on other ecu's bar the standard mondeo one and that has the PATS shite, could use the 24v cosworth ecu from the granada tho, but it'd need a chip to adjust the ignition timing and injector pulse timing aswell......12v it is hehe

ChrisW - 25/8/04 at 06:41 PM

The PATS being the anti theft system isn't it? Can't be that hard to get round can it?

If I did it I'd be using the megasquirt ECU and slapping a T25 on each side like the one in the Noble

Chris

Graceland - 25/8/04 at 07:16 PM

pats is a load of shite - if you unplug the instrument binacle then the engine wont start even

go MBE management - its one of the best aftermarket managements out there - easy to work with aswell

ned - 26/8/04 at 08:45 AM

i've seen a 3ltr jag duratec running tb's and mbe kit, very nice, about 330bhp n/a (race engine) by mount tune

Ned.
