Tonneau material

Hi guys,

I’ve got a striker with the usual tonneau style boot cover.
I want to get some more to fashion a removal cover for the car if I end up needing to leave it in the rain ever, but I’m struggling to actually find some tonneau sheet.

Is the material called something else and where can I get just the raw material to cut up and sew myself,

Thanks
Andy

we used stuff called ripstop. i think it gets used for boat sails?

managed to sew it with a standard sewing machine - albeit a slightly older electric hobby one.

I used the same for my cover, it kept the car dry all the way down the M5 on the back of a trailer.

Decent range of colours too, if that's your thing. For example https://fabric-direct.co.uk/?s=ripstop

That's what I made my seats out of, but it's not waterproof. Or at least the one I bought wasn't waterproof.
