Is the ford taunus just another name for a cortina? is it the american name?

And any idea what mark cortina came out in 1970?

As far as I know yes it is. I think the name is European as there were a lot of them around in Germany in the seventies.

Col,

I think it was Ford European name for the Cortina MK4, Remember seeing the odd imported one. Sorry can't be more specific.

Cheers,
Dave

Depends on year prior to 1970 the Cortina and Tanus were completely different post 1970 they were the same car.

I have a genuine ford issued workshop manual (big ring binder thingy) for the ford cortina / Taurus, and it was issued in August 1970.

Gonna stick it on ebay but wanted to know what mark cars it was relevant to.
