I've decided that my attempt to make a boot box is a complete pig's ear. 
So, this weekend, it's "tear it all out and start again, but this time DO IT PROPERLY" time... together with "keep it simple,
stupid, and stop trying to be a smart-arse".
Ho hum.

I wish that could be the case, considering the dopey mistakes and bad choices I made on the first effort. Trouble was, I made a mistake right at the
beginning, and its effects were compounded as I went on. If I stick with what I've got so far it'll either look wrong, or I'll have to
fudge some way of hiding the error - which may not work anyway, and will certainly look second-rate.
And some of the problems to be overcome started when the chassis was first built!
No, I'm happy that I've made the decision, I've got enough ali sheet to make another (simpler) version, and I can do it properly this
time (learning from past mistakes, etc.).
Are we down-hearted? Too bl**dy right we are!

First one is the worst one.
Keeping it simple, I made a boot 'floor' from a few lengths of 3/4" tube and keep everything in a cheap holdall in there - sorted.
It's surprising how much you can fit in there!

I used to use a cargo net but I just stuff things in the passenger footwell and put them on top of the tank when I park up, then I forget and drive
off till I hear them fall on the road.

That's the way I work at the moment - I just want to be able to lock odds and ends in somewhere while I'm away from the car. If I can make
enough space to fit the helmet in, even better.
I've just had a look at 907's boot pictures in his photo archive - "I'm feeling very depressed..." (in my Marvin voice.).
Don't you just hate a smart arse!

For all of those who have probabley scoffed at Marcus's approach, I and Bob will put on the record that the amount of stuff Marcus and Roland
managed to stuff into that boot at Stoneliegh a couple of years ago, was un believable , and I will have to admit the "open frame work"
approach with waterproof canoe bags is quite tempting, as we have all found at some point the "locost chassis" in the boot area doesnt leave
much room for anything .
