yesterday, driving on my regular car (a Smart Forfour btw) i wondered how it would be like to drive a locost 7... so I rolled down both driver's
and passenger's windows and drove for a bit. mostly on motorways.... u cant hear anything!!! the gusts of wind were quite unbearable after a bit.
above 75mph i couldnt hear my engine (of course the locost will sound much more) but still.. what do u think?
is it really that windy on a locost 7?
[edit: i also think i should wear a helmet if i ever do finish my locost... ]

If you really want to know what its like with no screen and no helmet stick your head out of the window as well!

worse than that,you loose your hat and anything that isnt bolted down from inside,good fun tho
If you have a normal windscreen then you get beaten to death by the turbulance. If you don't have a screen then you get a nice smooth blast of
air past your head - and get beaten to death by gravel, bumble bees, etc.!
It's part of the driving experience, as far as I'm concerned.

And I thought junebugs at bicycle speeds were bad enough!! Will need a helmet around here for sure!
They're right around an inch long. Can't imagine how the motorcyclists with no helmets do it.
i was driving mine for the first time today since removing the screen, the wind is bad! When karting i tend to leave my visor ajar (maybe a half inch)
to keep it clear, but even like this the draft on my eyes was far too much, had to slap it shut! No chance of it fogging up at that speed though 
karting here is a different experience. because the owners dont have enough money to buy new helmets at certain intervals of time, you end up wearing
a 5 year old helmet with no visor which has been worn by about a hundred thousand people. it is like russian roulette! if a pebble doesnt fly into
your eye, the exhaust from the kart in front of you does.. and everyone finishes with RED, devil red eyes, twice the normal size!!! a different
experience overall!
its like skiing too... i cant ski with anything other than goggles.. the wind is just too uncomfortable.

Ive just peed myself laughing at your analagies above. How very true!!!. Ive heard some people complain about not being able to breath at certain
speeds with a screen on Must say my aeroscreen isnt bad but i wouldnt go any distance at speed without helmet. I think id wear a helmet if i had a
forfour as well!!!!
If you go fast enough your ears bleed as well .
oh man...seems the car was designed by a masochist... do your teeth fall out too? dont mind becoming deaf due to ear drums exploding, or blind due to
junebugs, gravel, cigarette butts from the guy in front, etc etc etc.. i just cant bear not having teeth
maybe doctors should incorporate a new line of questioning when assessing an illness:
"i have a cough, doctor"
"do you drive a lotus seven or alike?"
My teeth havent fell out. The fillings have but teeth are still OK!!!!! You really need a helmet - stops the hair being torn out by the roots. A
cushion comes in handy as well - to prevent your coccyx (spelling?) from being smashed to pieces when you drive over a pot hole more than 2mm deep.
Eyes are the most important thing to save...... or you wont be able to read lcb posts
i've heard if you go really fast, the wind will rush in through your mouth, and blow you up like a balloon!
it's quite scary on the motorway when you're doing a bit over the speed limit keeping up with outside lane traffic and you turn your head to
look over your shoulder, and the wind stops you turning it back!
oakley m frames are good for up to 80mph, although mine have been known to be in service at over 100!
all in an afternoon's drive.

I thought the harnesses were used for safety, i see now that they are really there to stop you
exploding. Maybe 3" belts should be specced as a minimum
i thought it was illegal to drive a car on the road with a helmet on, which is why nobody wears them on road rallies?
