Its official, I'm in a panic.

I'm officially panicing, SVA is in 18 and half hours time, I'm now marginally confident that the only breakdowns i should be having on the way to carlisle are going to be mental ones.

Can't find roll pins for love nor money to do the bias bar, i've lost my ali shears to make covers, and i'm bound to run out of edging in the next 5 minutes.

Argh! Oh well, I think i need a cup of tea with milk and two valium.

Anybody else been to carlisle test center? Anything I should know, don't mention the war, that kinda thing?

Oh and when i get a sec i'll take some pictures.

Cheers

David

Don't know Carlisle so can't offer advice so all I can say is: Good Luck!!!!!

Other than that, a nice smile and kissing arse goes a long way!

Presumably, as you coming over from Holland, you really *need* to pass first time?

I'd let him know this at some point and you might get a little more time to fix stuff at the site.

Best of British (and Dutch! ) to you!

James

Calm down.

You only have a 1% chance of passing 1st time so expect a fail and just hope for a small list of things to fix (1-2 pages).

Once I was in the state of mind that I would fail and it was just a day out I felt a lot better.

Good luck getting there!

Good luck with the test. I'm sure you will get it ready .

Just make sure you get their in time.

Dave

David is Scottish - so he's stuffed

Keep smiling. I assume the stuff i sent up got to you. Ever heard of a hack saw or angle grinder, that will cut ali.

Instead of roll pin what about split plins?

The anticipation is worse than the event. Like you, I was a bag of nerves. I imagined all manner of stuff the car was going to fail on. Drove myself mad trying to improve things that really didn't need it.
All you can do is present your car in a condition that indicates you have gone the extra mile (or kilometre) and taken real care with the build, so instead of the inspector looking for things to fail it on, he'll be doing his best to pass it.
That was my experience. I was convinced my car would fail, but incredibly it passed.
Don't worry. If the worst happens, you will have a list of stuff to do and have enjoyed a good blatter in your pride and joy.
If the best happens, it'll be days before your grin starts to go.

Make sure you take loads of rubber trim and some super glue. You should get some tinkering time after the test.

All the very best, you never know you might enjoy it.

Good Luck

Dave.

Roll pins, pinch one out of an old dizzy, used to hold the drive gear on the shaft or Machine Mart do a mixed box of roll pins for about £7. Good luck.

Dont worry anout it... just bring a small bribe and you will be ok.....

Or you could try the good old death threats
