Were RH even making cars in 77?

My guess (to be corrected by our Danish friends) is he's bought a car in the UK and now can't easily/cheaply register it in Denmark unless it's a pre May 77 classic car.

very sus

He bought the car on the 5th Aug in the uk with a reg plate so it does have a uk reg doc - ? see his past purchases

werry veird!

According to RAC vehicle check it is a 5 door hatchback:

http://www.rac.co.uk/web/vehiclechecks/dvla_lookup/?page=1&vrn=a629cyj

Manufacturer {blank}
Model {blank}
Body type 5 DOOR HATCHBACK
Colour GREEN {got that bit right!}
Fuel type PETROL
Date manufactured 31 December 1983 {RH?}
Number of previous owners 14
Last owner change 13 June 2006

Also, not sure he has put this in the right category if he wants a RH reg docs:

Cars, Parts & Vehicles > Automobilia > Advertising > British > Lotus

The V5 wasn't sold with the car, at least it wasn't mentioned as present on the auction.

Those details look like the donor to me.

A: if you win the car mate i will let you drive it to the moon on this number plate if you like... of course no problem and good luck ;-)

very strange, sort of feel sorry for him.

Findlay234 - 6/9/06 at 09:27 PM

the front wishbones look a bit odd. Is it me or are the nearside wishbones longer than the offside? i know there may be optical illusion in the angle of the wheel but the illusion cant account for the massive distance. Is it to accomodate for the number plate....

How accurate is the search ? That site says my Landy was manufactured 3 months
after the DVLA search says it was first registered !

It comes from the dvla database <tongue in cheek> so it's obviously 100% accurate </tongue in cheek>

The DVLA have/had their own web search somewhere, but I can't find it anymore.

In the Netherlands we only look to the Date first registration.

If the Date first reg is older than 25 years you pay no taxes. That's why we love the point-system you have by alterning cars.

In NL the frame is what makes the age of a car. Also the rest have to meet the regulations by the age of the frame.

So building a kit means:
New frame, new regulations, highest tax etc. etc.

That's why we come to GB let is register as used 25 year old car and then export it to NL.

It's weird to live in Europe i know!

Only when you make your own frame, no kit-car then the regulations are less hard to meet, but the taxes stay.

The fellow in the ad is prob. trying to give his car a new id. That's illegal and stupid thing to do, i think
