Got reg confused
madteg - 2/3/07 at 07:56 PM

Picked up tax and docs from DVLA today and they have given me a 56 plate, is this ok or mistake, if so what should i do? thanks kev.

I'm guessing you took paperwork into, and it was processed by them, prior to 1/3/07, hence the 56, rather than 07 plate.

I doubt very much they will even consider an 07 plate now vehicle registered.

Probably not what you wanted to hear

IIRC you'll get a 56 plate if you have used only one used/recon part and the rest new?

If this is not the case, and they've still given you a 56 plate anyway, then I'd check everything else is correct on the docs (chassis no, engine no etc) then keep quiet.

If it's on their system as a 56, then it's a 56.

errm, perhaps I'm getting confused. Were you expecting an 07 or a Q/age related?

I was expecting a age related plate as i have used engine, gearbox, axle and steering of doner car.

Don't shout too load ! I for one would keep quite about it.

Looks like you hit the jackpot!

Doubt they will do anything, that would imply a DVLA civil servant admitting a mistake.

On the plus side it might be worth a little more. On the downside I guess you will have hard emissions tests every MOT.

I wouldn't complain .......... just a pity you didn't wait until later in the month when the 07 plates were being issued though

Only thing too consider is maybe what implications the reg may have come MOT time, 3 years away i guess but will it make emissions difficult ?

I may also be talking out my rear end........

Not really, afaik the emissions levels are transferred from the mac to the V5 so if it passed once ...
