Just got an email from paypal saying there has been a charge back made against my account from may 2008, somehow they say the buyers card was used
without there knowledge!!
So they take the money first since its the credit card company. (not happy)
Luckily i sent it recorded delivery, so i have proof of receipt.
Just got to wait and see
So i suppose the moral of the story is send things recorded delivery otherwise i wouldn't have a leg to stand on.

Sounds like Paypal alright...
paypal dont have any control over it the creditcard company come in and say right thats mine and thats it. paypal will fight the case for you if you can provide proof of postage etc..

As soon as I saw the topic title I knew it was going to be about paypal.
Proof of reciept appears to mean jack $hit it seems as Mr Isons found out
just noticed the delivery address is london but the guys address is ayrshire?? wtf...

I'm really surprised that some "no win, no fee" lawyer hasn't picked up on this scam so far and started procedings against Paypal for theft/fraud...

They prosecuted the French ebay for failing to do enough to prevent sales of counterfeit goods from LVMH link
anyone know how to cancel your paypal subscription?
there is justice some times
You wont win this one I'm afraid, and this is from someone who fought with them for five months to win one battle with them.
They will just keep reverting to "the credit card company as initiated the charge back" not them.
Trouble is THEY, paypal allegedly verify card details address ect but pass on the costs of their inadequacies to you the seller.
IO did have a long battle with them over a charge back, know what their general response was ? "We should build into the cost of items enough to
cover charge backs as they will happen"
As I said above, its very annoying, if we had taken the card payment over the phone fair enough, our problem, our fault, but paypal took the payment
on our/your behalf, we/you paid them commission to do so, they should carry the risk of cards THEY verify, not us/you the seller.
Stinks but you wont win this one.
