Tin Top Electric Problem
Avoneer - 25/11/08 at 06:29 PM

Having trouble with my '05 Scenic.

Went to start today - flashed up "Parking Brake Failure" on the display, then the central door locks went into a non stop frenzy.

I disconnected the battery.

Gave it a few minutes then tried again - same thing.

Any ideas anyone?

This is going to be fun as I can't tow it as it's keyless and steering lock is on and the handbrake is on and that's electric too.

Help.

Is it possible the parking brake has frozen!??? It has been pigging cold - other than that a faulty body earth sounds likely as can't see anything else that would connect the park brake (which I assume is electric?) & the central locking

Will go and try to "jerk" it and try connecting the battey again.

Classic symptoms of a dead battery, they can limp on for months, then during the first sub-zero temp night they die..

Not enough juice to work the locks or release the hand-brake.

Try it with a new battery or jump pack..
