I need some simple plates cut out of 5mm steel, around 20 at most for building my car rotation frame. I’d cut them myself but that gauge tends to go through cutting disks at an alarming rate. I have autocad 2005 which the whole thing is getting design on so might be able to produce drawings of the parts in some usable format.

Anyone able to do this task? Looking for them getting done at the end of the month.

oh and I'd recommend saving any *.dwg or *.dxf files in autoCAD 2000 format (its compatable with more things)

I just got some 5mm plates from them, and they are spot on.

I can't remember what they are cut with, either waterjet or laser.

Price was pretty good too.

Ask whoever is going to be doing the work what format they want it in. Some will want DXF, some will want DWG, others might want something special, like DGN or SAT.

As a guide, any aluminium, copper, brass or thick stainless/mild steel would be better suited to waterjet cutting
