Withdrawal symptoms
speedyxjs - 29/1/09 at 12:54 PM

Ok. All this talk about withdrawal symptoms but who had it worst?
My money is on Whippy

Hammerhead - 29/1/09 at 12:57 PM

yeah but he frequents several forums at once. So maybe it was not biggie for him.

Mr Whippy - 29/1/09 at 01:00 PM

well although I did check a few times till I saw Chris's read only version, yesterday was quite busy with meetings so I didn't have much time for the web

Yeah I'm on a few other forums, mind not all Mr Whippys are me, honestly I've been cloned

He could have given us a bit more warning that he was going to shut it down though

Withdrawal symptoms? what, you mean like a sticky belly?

iank - 29/1/09 at 01:11 PM

I suspect there was a hardware failure on the server, so it had to get rebuilt from backups. It happened lateish at night so I'd guess Chris didn't get to do anything until the next morning.

I made printouts of the read only forum and started a new thread with pen and paper. My cat was the first registered user and she contributed a lot to the threads we made. I then made dinner of alphabet spaghetti arranged to spell 'locostbuilders' across my toast.

Have I missed something?? was in deepest Aldershot all day yesterday, no time for the net.........

omega0684 - 29/1/09 at 02:07 PM

r1_pete: R U MAD! The LB site was down since Tuesday evening! the was an upraw and outrage i bet the haynes forum saw record subscriptions yesterday, most people deserted to there and the DAX Sporting Club forum had a few extra hits as well,

the new look LB forum was put up by chris as a teaser! whippy was committed to a mental hospital for the day due to post withdrawl depression and the rest of us had to jump poo to the Haynes builders forum for the day!

all good fun though

Ahh, I see, I was on the road at 7PM Tuesday night stayed in a hotel overiight, and was busy all day yesterday till nearly midnight....

Must admit I do wonder whats going on on here when I cant get on.

Even though I'm not building a 7, (Zetec engined MGB) its more help and fun on here than any MG forum. The flat cappers frown on my conversion.....
