you know even for a Delorean that car actually looks nice!

quite clearly the bare stainless steel finish was a totally dumb idea

Almost makes me want one!

When you see one in the flesh the brushed stainless is what makes the car - I think paint ruins it!

I have seen one right up close, reminded me of my toaster and despite claims to the contrary finger prints do stand out!

I always like delorean's.

Jasper - 30/1/09 at 02:49 PM

That's one really cool car.....

Kerrayzee! Looks fast though. That'd be a nice motor to sling into a Lotus Esprit, with summat like an Audi Transaxle for cogs Shame I've got no money

I like the DeLorean shape. Having seen an original stainless finish one close up, I think paint is better.

That website is a bit inconsistent:

Implies that foreign (presumably = non-US) is bad: "The stock Delorean was armed with a 2.8 Liter foreign engine with about 130HP. We determined that this was not satisfactory for a car with the looks and handling of the Delorean."... hmm - the whole car was built in "foreign land" as far as the yanks are concerned"

Then they pick a Mazda engine (is that foreign, or just maybe it was assembled in the US?) and uses a Porsche gearbox.

Oh well. No doubt ot goes better than the original

Such a pity that they never got it right the first time, that one has been turned into a very nice car

How weird is this - left work today only to follow a stainless bodied Delorean down the road for a couple of minutes - can't remember the last time I saw one in the flesh!!!

I was at the motor show when it was first unvailed to the public ! loved it then and still think it loverly in brushed s/steel, shame that I now no how it was made and what from!

greggors84 - 30/1/09 at 08:31 PM

Its a shame the originals were limited to only 88mph...

Antnicuk - 30/1/09 at 09:12 PM

now thats a proper rotary engine. The power potential is huge.

We have a 20b in an rx7 but threw the sequential turbos away and fitted a big single turbo. It makes 600 fly HP at only 0.9 bar. When i say threw them away, is what i actually mean is i am fitting them to the stylus

Here are the twins waiting to go on! I'm looking forward to being blow by twins

Here is our 20b engine when it was supercharged. Its now turbo'd again
