Right, first of all, i need to take my mum and my sister out in about an hour and they love the way the jag sounds minus one silencer. Is there any
problem with driving the car a short distance with one exhaust ending just behind the rear wheel?
Secondly, i had to cut the exhaust just before the silencer as where it joins on to the rest of the exhaust, wont budge. Iv tried using a hammer and
penetrating oil but to no avail. The exhaust is 12 yrs old so i imagine its all the heating up and cooling down but is there any easy way to do it?
The garage I go to use an Oxy-acetaline torch to heat it up and break the rust.

When ried that with my old rover V8, the exhaust had the underseal on the bottom of the car smouldering - so don't set fire to yourself!

If it's not loud enough for plod to take an interest then I'm sure you'll be fine for a short run.
However be aware that exhaust can potentially leak into the car - not good.
