I know there are some Jago bashers on here and wouldn't think of going over to the stand at Stoneliegh but I did, and havealways like them. Thats
based purely on the fact the body is took off a WW2 Willys.
Never been a fan of the Escort running gear so I have taken my first step towards Jago ownership with a rusty Suzuki SJ413 purchased to start and
build a 4x4 version...
Something to do when I'm unemployed... this is going to be seriously locost
I'd love a willys jeep, their sooo cool. There's a proper WWII one up here in Aberdeen all kitted out like it just came off the battlefield

There are two originals Willy's in my small town. Brilliant machines.
Did you see the jago with the blown V8... masssive charger sticking out of the bonnet
revving the nuts off it
Cool, and no IVA if you don't mess with the chassis
I'll be interested to see how you get on. I've always liked the original Willys-alike Jago, and a Suzuki basis seems like an obvious move. How similar are the wheelbases?

Wheelbase is 80", same as a Willy's and very similar to the Jago... from what I'm thinking front wheels may sit a bit further forward
than Escort equipped Jago's when lining the body up with the back wheels.
Its going to be military green and a blatant (crap) copy! There was some good pretenders at Stoneleigh so the 4x4 undercarriage should complete the
look.

I love jago's been after one cheap for ages.
Missed one on retrorides by minutes just up the road from me for 50 quid. and didnt look in bad nick.
Id rip the petrol out and put a deisel in though. There was one at stoneleigh with a merc 6 pot deisel in.
Theres a bloke on ebay that often advertises that breaks them. he normally has the body panels etc.
one of my mates has an actual willys jeep! it is awesome! properly kitted out in battle spec, its got all the spades and axes and everthing! he does
reenacting in it

Yeah, thinking about TDi as the European only SJ419 had a Pug 1.9TDi in it.
What a completely stupid, nonsensical and childish idea....
I'm so jealous - I went on the 4x4 course at Stoneleigh with the missus!!!

I was quite impressed till I read the reenactment bit - then I couldn't get the serious bloke out of these two out my head!

Great idea and look forward to seeing the result, quite a few variations on the Jago theme happening at the moment. Several verysuccessful 4 x 4
conversions have been made
The V8 super charged jeep is hopefully running at York on Bank Holiday Sunday and Monday,
