hi i have a cooper s and want to change supercharger pully for a smaller one 17% smaller does any one know if u need to make a management upgrade eg a re map or will the ecu cope with 2or3 psi it gives me!!

i had a mk4 golf 1.8 turbo i put a bleed valve on and turned boost up only by 2 psi and the ecu hated it it use to shut down and jerk around so i had to get it properly re mapped. dont want the mini doing that
any easy tuning info would be greatly recived as only just got car and dont know the little mods that might be out there other than the pully

well it all depends on how the manufacturer has mapped the ecu.

toyota 4efte runs at 9 psi stock and the ecu can take up 14ish psi without any problem.

A supercharger is quite a predicable device, unlike a turbo. Hence why a turbo ecu is able to cope with a few to much more psi. If it uses a maf (with a map sensor) sensor then it should cope with the extra flow, if it uses a map sensor to determine fuelng the margin of safety will be less, so probally will cope with a slight increase.

They need a remap. Plus a special tool to change the pulleys.

So take it to a mini tuner and get them to do it
