Is it me, or does every track sound exactly the same? Just heard the new single on the radio, and it's indistinguishable from their others tracks. I know they're meant to be the best live band - but really, there's only so much wailing and indie guitar riffs I can handle....
Listen to the album, you won't be saying that
I like 'em.
I was listening to Radio 1s Sunday Surgery show once and as it was hallowen they were talking about various things including "spooky
coincidences" and also about "witches" and how the "riding the broomstick" might be to do with smearing psychoactive
mushrooms ont the end of them and putting them someone intimate (if you know what I mean). Immediately after this they said "please send us your
spooky coincidences... now the new song from Muse"
Which is quite a coincidence as MUSE is also the name of a drug for male impotence which is basically a tiny little tablet that you stick down the
middle of- well you probably get the drift.
I e-mailed the show to ask Dr Mark (it was back in the day with Emma B) if that was a deliberate coincidence considering that they'd just been
talking about absorbing drugs through your genitals.
He said I shouldn't listen to the show so carefully
Still like Muse (the band) though!!
Seen them 3 times including the Teignmouth gig.......most excellent. However not too keen on their current single is one of their weakest
They really are an amazing live band.
Cursory listening to the latest material does suggest each track re-hashes the same themes/lyrics with slightly different music. That's probably
unfair but it does put me off on first listen. Is it a 'concept' album? I haven't purchased it to find out..
Wish I'd got tickets for the next tour though, Wembley was great and the coverage of Teignmouth on the BBC suggested the new songs would be good
live.
A little different from when they supported Gene many moons ago...
I love em
Went to wembley last time, then O2 this time and got tickets to wembley for september - can't wait!
However, this album is my least favourite so afar, but its growing on me...
alot of their songs do sound the same imo but it doesnt stop me listening to them
Love 'em... I know what you mean about their songs sounding similar though!
Outstanding live... great show!
I think you can easily draw a connecting line between Classical music and Muse's sound (don't know if that makes sense, but I know what I
mean LOL).
On a similar note (see what I did there!) I do my nut in when I hear these TV ads for dance-music compilations... almost-exactly the same beat
throughout, but with slightly different second-rate vocals shrieking out horrendous lyrics in the background!
I'd rather smear my genitals with fish paste and dangle them in a pool of hungry piranhas than listen to Muse.
All style, no substance.
eddie vedder's soundtrack for 'into the wild' is great

It can be arranged
you think there new song sounds like plug in baby?
It's great that people interpret things so differently
If I had one album to take to a desert album, this would be it...

to be honest, I dont count their new stuff as muse. Theyre old stuff is far better, like origin of symetry.
The new stuff is just boring and samey. theyve sold out.

they've sold out.
"Selling out" is when a band makes songs or an album which is solely to make money not for the 'love of the music' if you like.
It often happens when a band gets super big as they then pander to the current trends in whatever the style of music is in order to keep in the
limelight and make more money.
A swift break up usually follows.
As for Muse, not a fan myself, and yes all their songs sound the same
I have a few of their tracks, but no albums.
If they've sold out it must be good, like when the chip shop sold out of fish just as I got to the front
yea, theyve sold out cause they no longer do muse, they just do what the record label wants to sell lots of copies.
compare the old to the new and hopefully youll see what i mean...
