skinned knuckles - 13/4/10 at 03:57 PM

my wifes photography business if really starting to take off now and she quite often uses an assistant to help her. i have offered to assist her when i'm free, especially on shoots like these but she is a bit reluctant. any thoughts as to how i can convince her?

stupott901 - 13/4/10 at 04:00 PM

that is so unfair after all you are willing to give up your free time to help.

dont blame you id volunteer aswell!!!!!!

MakeEverything - 13/4/10 at 04:01 PM

Threaten to start your own mobile photography business and go into competition!!

sucksqueezebangblow - 13/4/10 at 04:01 PM

You should explain that the photo's are marred by the excess use of clothing and that you should advise on areas where reductions can be made

CRAIGR - 13/4/10 at 04:04 PM

Thats extremely unreasonable of her when i'm sure theres things you could tweak a bit to improve the pictures somewhat.

NigeEss - 13/4/10 at 04:15 PM

Insist you are only there to hold things and won't look. A voluntary blindfold may help.

Puzzled - 13/4/10 at 04:19 PM

SeaBass - 13/4/10 at 04:19 PM

Tell your wife I can save her some money!

I hereby formally apply for the post of assistant!

Please can you tell your wife I am looking for zero compensation for this work! My love of photography is payment enough!

may i just refresh everyones memory as to the repercussions of self pleasure. looking through the boudior (not porn)section of my wifes website could result in loss of hands or testicles not to mention eternal damnation dont say i didn't warn you

pewe - 13/4/10 at 05:12 PM

It's probably because she doesn't want your grubby builders mitts adjusting the straps and dirtying them.
BTW how have you managed to keep the build from her so far? Does she think you are out doing "jobs" or what?
I think we should be told!!
Cheers, Pewe

its not that i'm keeping the build from her as much as there were a few ground rules layed down when i suggested that i might at some time consider thinking about building a locost.

1) it must not take me away from family time
2) it must not take any money from the family pot
3) it should not do me any permenant injury (either during the build or after)
4) i should not spend all night on the computer "researching" things on the computer when i should be being romantic with her

other than that i can do anything with the car except for rule 5 which strictly dictates that neither our drive or garden should display signs of a car being built which wouldn't be too bad if i had a garage

My wife organised herself a boudoir shoot for my anniversary, I ended up with a photo album and 4 cd's of pics as a present, considering your mrs is a photographer, I reckon thats just plain lazy,

pewe - 13/4/10 at 07:50 PM

So it's a yes to all the "ground rules" 'cos once the build has started it's a different ball-game.
Also as her business looks like it's going to fly she'll be needing a studio with lots of space - won't she ?
Cheers, Pewe
PS her work is deffo impressive.

i have already built her the studio so there is one bargaining tool thrown out. and the work is flooding in at the mo. with a bit of luck, her business will grow to the point where we need to sort a seperate premesis (possibly high street) where there will be a little bit of space left to one side for me and the car. until then its building it in my shed at work 1/2 hour at a time

She clearly needs an independent assistant and time away from you during "business hours".

I'm independent and very local, and willing to work for minimum wage. Now where do i send my CV??

balidey - 13/4/10 at 08:29 PM

I can't offer your wife any help, but if you ever need someone to hide in the shadows and perv, I'm your man.
