As mentioned at the Pontefract meet last Wednesday......
Thanks for sharing that info.
Cheers for that - excellent diagrams
However having now printed it out and had a good look...
there are several things left unanswered
like how it is all held together?
I think my welding is just about up to welding the main plates together (maybe) but how for instance are the down links (item 7) supposed to connect
to the selector (item 8) ?
are there any assembly instructions ?
Cheers
I didn't need an extension on my type 9 gearbox, what am I doing wrong.
pete - the answer may be if you say yes to both of the following questions :
1. do you eat a lot of bananas
2. do your hands drag along the floor as you walk?
I dont need an extension either

OK looks great - Where can I get one and how much?
I don't have facilities, the time or the skill to build something like that.
Andy
Pete,
Have you moved your engine further back? Mine's a bell-housing's worth further back so with any luck I won't need one either.

If I could interject and just say that I really don't understand why people are copying the way westfield have done this lever!!!!????????????
They have evidently done it so that a mechanical novice can fit it, but there is a MUCH better way!!!
Knock out the rollpin that retains the bellcrank on the end of the std selector shaft and remove the bellcrank. Make up a shaft extension, plate etc
as per the various drawings on this site, but instead of making the bellcrank again as a copy of the Ford one, simply roll pin the previously removed
Ford item to the rear of the shaft. 100% quicker and easier and prevents the excess play of the "double fork" arrangement of the Westy
item!!!!!!!!!!!
Like wot I did, you mean?
The Westie way does seem complicated.
