Watched a programme on Sky Home and Leisure last night, called American Hotrod. They were making a hotrod entirely out of aluminium (sorry,
aluminum!).
Watching these metalworkers shaping the body panels with hammers, english wheels, and sheer brute force was quite amazing, especially when you saw the
beautiful shapes they created.
I wish I had their skills just at the moment - my next job is the bonnet!

Must admit I'm enjoying both series!
American Hotrod.
They seem to be good at outsourcing their work though!
Whatever they do in house seems to be a constant battle of corrections and rebuilds.
They have a machinist who doesn't know how to operate his machines and the foreman runs around like a headless chicken criticizing Blueberry all
the time. Whatever happened to training? If you don't think someone knows what you want from them then show them for gawd's sake!
At least with American Chopper they show the junior members what to do and don't just knock 'em!
They both seem to be just end line assemblers as very little is done inhouse.
