IPod problem

Hi
I have an 8gb nano ipod and play this through a B&W Zeppelin and all is fine.
But i want to play the ipod through a larger amp and speaker for a party when i connect this up to the jack plug for the earphones it plays some tracks funny(like they are under water or very quitely), i have then tried the original ear phones and they play the same tracks funny as well, but when in the Zeppelin holder all is good again.
Any ideas

I assume the Zeppelin uses the dock connector and not the headphone socket? Sounds like either the headphone circuit or nearby circuitry is shot. You could try some contact cleaner in the jack socket (carefully!) to see if that helps. Does the Zeppelin have a headphone socket of its own?

oops, that same thing happened to me with my ipod-mini a while back...
with headphones, the volume was really low and sounded exactly like u said. but using the dock connector it was fine. i then realized i had plugged a "mono" jack on the headphone plug and it fried the headphone circuitry...
if you're very fond of your nano, you could try to find a replacement online, but it might not be the only damaged component.

I just went out and bought another one.

A quick search on e-bay should find you a docking station, these give audio/video out via the dock port and should get round your issue.

Hi All
just tried another docking station but it still relies on the jack socket .
With the headset plugged in some songs are great but others are not.
I have tried two ipods now with the same tracks and it happens to both.
does anyone know if you can switch speakers to mono on an ipod?

Zeppelin does not have a headphone out socket only input.
still strugging but thanks for your input.
