I will receive mine in the end of the year now that i have handed in my notice.
From the bright side, there are jobs around.
I am moving back to Greece where due to the finanancial crisis, there aren't any jobs and they expect another 300,000 unemployed next year.

On the upside, you seemed found work relatively quickly last time round so hopefully you'll be the same this time.
My core skills are VERY specialised, but a main dealer 50 miles away wants an Audatex expert with Autoquote experience which I tick all their boxes, application already sent - hopefully they can supply a company car with a VERY economical diesel engine cos the seven would cost £125 in fuel alone they way I drive!

How s you build getting on - I won't be able to paint it now though
It is a real bummer but.. in the last year I've been redundant, found a new job, packed it in, retrained, gone for a agency, whoa whoa! they
would have me going 7-24hrs..
Theres plenty of work out there, just not much permanent jobs atm

Top notch tradesmen are hard to come by.
Tis such a pitty we now live in a culture where university degrees count for more than what you can actualy do. ( Not knocking a good education though
)
Build is coming on slowly but is a least going in the right direction.
Had a bit more energy recently & can manage a couple of hours most days.
I managed to get a GRP body set in Red, that'll do me for the time being.
Bar the prop, I have all I need to complete the build.
You never know, may have it done by spring & beat the 4th year aniversary !!

Would/could you consider a change to be a forensic engineer?. The ones i've used in the past earn a bleeding fortune and good ones are few and far between in my experience. I guess it might take a bit of investment and training but would soon pay for it's self if you could get the work in?
Good luck getting something new and interesting.
I used to do 43 miles each way on my commute (about an hour up/down the A10). It's not much fun on that road, but certainly achievable.

One of the bigger ones i used was gbb who are based up in Lancashire but i think they have people up and down the country who i guess they contract
out to. They're also one of the more expensive.
I also used to use 2 independants, a great bloke called Chris Davis who mainly works in and around the m25 area and a guy called Terry Metcalfe from
somewhere nr. Wakefield in West Yorkshire. Going rate is best part of a grand for a couple of inspections and an expert opinion o n whether or not
they have hit each other and in the manner described. Not bad for a day or so work!!
I also used a company called Hannaford forensic for fires they might be worth looking up.
As far as I understand most expert witnesses attain
that status through experience as opposed to training so it might be quite suited to you if you have years of experince. That being said, some
training on that type of investigation, statement writing and witness familiarisation could be a good idea.
Would probably be a good time to get into it too as the motor insurance industry lost huge amounts last year due to the uplift in bodily injury claims
and most are investing in fraud prevention and also focusing on low speed impact cases.
