The old 1500cc turbo f1 engines from the 80's had up to 1300bhp!
Keep hold of your old 1600 X-Flows then. Could be a new market for them.
KERS is back!
Better start peeing on that old 4 cylinder BMW block in the yard, could be worth a few bob soon

yep thats what bmw did in the f1 turbo era old 100,000 mile blocks left outside for the work for to pee on them they never used a new block back then
ps the old 1500cc 4 cylinder turbo engines finished with 1500 BHP in the final years
Ferrari won't like it because they can't sell supercars with 1600 4pots. With a v8 you can pretend it shares some technology.
10,000 rpm is BEC territory so the technology will be much closer to cars you can buy/build.
Those power levels are very achievable, a bit lame really.
If you go to Big CC Racing with a busa engine and 10k, you can leave with 600bhp.
That's less than than Ferrari's toilet roll budget.
The rusty old BMW blocks story is a myth according to an article in Aug 09 Racecar Engineering.
I think it's great!
The time is right for a fuel efficiency war and it will make the racing much more strategic.
