Had my first test drive of the car yesterday so currently feeling very positive about the build. I was making good progress today too fitting the
passenger seat and was then modifying my silencer mount bracket when I had a disagreement with the hacksaw, the saw finished cutting but in my
enthusiasm my hand kept going.
really pee'd off with myself now as I can't do much on the car for the next seven days when the steri-strips can come off, although on the
bright side it gets me out of doing the washing up.
must be more careful.....

Were you just holding the hacksaw blade?
was moving the saw forward and crashed my hand into the work piece just as it cut through.
Ouch. N&N job or sort it yourself
I went to the walk in centre in castle mall, was impressed how quickly I got seen. was back at home within an hour.

Oooh - nasty!
After you've done that a few times you learn to easy off the pressure as you get to the end of the cut... saying that, I still get caught now
and again (but not as viciously as that!).
Bit late to say it but ALWAYS wear work gloves (preferably split leather or similar) when sawing, filing, grinding, nut tightening, nut loosening etc.
etc. etc.
Gloves are cheap - your skin, digits, limbs aren't.
And don't get me started on ear and eye protection....
Hope it heals soon.
Cheers, Pew.
Commonly known as an "Idiot rash"
What usually gets me is when I try to pick up the off-cut *after* I've finished - no matter how many times I've done it, I *always* seem to
forget that the metal will be too hot to handle for a while...
Pewe - gloves for hacksawing seems a bit OTT - all you have to do is ease off the speed and pressure when the cut's nearly finished.
