theconrodkid - 28/10/11 at 08:35 AM

this is a genuine question on an exam paper.
what is the odd one out?

Slater - 28/10/11 at 09:02 AM

Ache....... it's the only one with 4 letters, the rest all have 5.

dizzy .........Its the only one with only one vowel

flibble - 28/10/11 at 09:08 AM

Well I've bled so much that I've gone dizzy then fainted on a few occasions so odd one = ache

foskid - 28/10/11 at 09:14 AM

Ache. It is the only word that is not an adjective.

balidey - 28/10/11 at 09:18 AM

dizzy.
The others can all be verbs (?) I think.

edit: too soon... as usual

Dizzy is an adjective, the others are verbs. You can bleed, ache and faint but you can't dizzy.

Edit - too slow, as usual.

Maybe context would help.
Is this from an English paper, or a Biology paper.

bobinspain - 28/10/11 at 09:20 AM

You can bleed, ache and faint, but you can't dizzy. Dizzy's my punt.

Not wishing to hi-jack the thread, but what's next in this series:

O,T,T,F,F,S,S ?

(answer is: E). This was an 'eleven-plus' question!!!!!!One two three four five etc.

jollygreengiant - 28/10/11 at 09:27 AM

Ache - Its the only one begining with a vowel.

Dizzy - cos its mechanical and you used to find them fitted on cars.

Bleed - because it could have outward manifestations (and it could be accompanied by all the others).

Feint - because its spelt wrong.

Bleed - because its out of order, the correct order is ache, dizzy, faint, bleed.

I think I married her sister

When do we get the 'correct answer'

[Edited on 28/10/11 by balidey]

Slater - 28/10/11 at 09:43 AM

O,T,T,F,F,S,S ?

E for Eight is the answer

One Two Three.............etc

Macbeast - 28/10/11 at 10:19 AM

Bleed - you need to do something about it. The rest you can only wait until it passes.

urm.. feinting is quite visible as well..... I hope your NOT an ambulance driver :p

iank - 28/10/11 at 03:18 PM

Following the ambulance driver idea I'll say Bleed. The others are I suspect more important to worry about, where a bit of blood (unless there's loads) is probably not as important immediately.

Ah, but, what if its an internal bleed, the other three could be symptoms of bleed.

Hellfire - 28/10/11 at 06:53 PM

I'll go with bleed. The other three aren't a refreshing drink........ Mwahahahahahah.....

Phil

theconrodkid - 28/10/11 at 07:35 PM

i am surprised that a great many of you were on the right track, the answer was dizzy as all the others are verbs (what ever they are ) i put bleed as my answer btw
