If You Could Have an Hour of Anyones Time...
scootz - 19/12/11 at 12:32 PM

... who would you choose!?

It would have to be Adrian Newey for me... so many questions!

Or maybe Salma Hayek (although I've no idea what she would do for the remaining 59 minutes ).

loggyboy - 19/12/11 at 12:36 PM

Wouldnt mind an hour to myself to be honest!

Have you seen Motor Sport Magazine this month? Their 'Lunch with...' features Christian Horner and is pretty interesting.

Art Arfons, just to ask him how the hell he figured out how to make a damaged jet engine work again and how it was to drive a jet car at 600mph.

Brilliant docu' last night. He almost made me understand 'Heisenberg's uncertainty Principle.' I say almost, because as soon as he introduced Plank's constant at 6.6x 10 to the minus 34 the numbers scrambled my brain a bit. The underlying 'conclusion' thanks to quantum physics the object (diamond) 'could' be in two places at once, was eyewatering. (Especially when he said we'd need to wait 100, million million times the length of time that the universe has been in existence to have an expectation of it)

Think I'd rather have an hour with Gemma Arterton.

It was pretty good, though I think it could possibly have done without the comedians assisting esp. the annoying Geordie women (Millican?).

bobinspain - 19/12/11 at 05:15 PM

I know what you mean Mike. The woman's a zero. Silly tokenism !
Ross is a prat too.
They could have done away with all the 'trimmings' and given the Prof' a little more airtime.
Dumbing down to try and attract those who wouldn't dream of switching on a science programme in any other circumstances.

You know what? Sarah Millican used to be very funny, before she started talking in a funny accent (she's not a geordie by the way) so's all the soft shandy drinking southerners could understand her. Before that she was honest, crude and used to swear like a trooper, oh, and it looked funny coming from a fat tart not the thing she is now... shame.

You work with Richard Branson? I would have thought with all his money he would not need to go to work everyday.

A mate of mine used to work for him when he was starting up selling records from the back of a van, in the 60's/70's.
It is amazing that people that amass a huge fortune quite often start from nothing. Never met him but by all accounts a top bloke.

I hope you may resign due to happy reasons and not bad ones.

Spiderman,

Not wishing to detract from RB's achievements, but his parents were able to re-mortgage their home when he was 21 and bale him out to the tune of a reputed £50k for 'tax irregularities.' (A figure not unadjacent to £600,000 in today's money). Not many parents are in a position to do that !

Just goes to show you should not believe everything you hear or read. I suppose with that sort of saftey net a lot more of us could make a good go at a succesful business.

Bang on there Loggy - an hour to myself would be time well spent. I wouldn't ask to much, just a quiet corner of a quiet pub next to the fire with a couple of pints and a decent book.

Failing that, an hour with Kylie wouldn't go amiss
