As title, where do you properly dispose of old phone batteries?

Most supermarkets have a 'used battery' drum or tub or something, they can go in there.

OK - wasn't sure if they were for normal alkalines only.

Most phone batteries are lithium ion nowadays. They're supposidly fine in the general waste.

makes for an interesting read.

Basically we in the UK are rubbish at recycling batteries, and anywhere (bigger than a post-office) that sells them should accept them for recycling.

Supermarkets seem to be the easist route in practice.

Our local Screwfix depot has a box for recycling old batteries and our household recycling scheme supply a plastic bag for battery disposal
