heres my 1st attempt at 3d surface modelling a locost, thought id share it with u guys.
next jobs are to model the small stuff (lights/wishbones/seats etc..) then im going to export it to CFX5.7 to perform virtual aerodynamic tests on
it.
the aim is to reduce the Cd hopefully to ~0.3. to achieve this, substantial bodywork mods will be needed, but hopefully wont neew to change the layout
of the chassis.
any coments/suggestions welcome

The front to back proportions look wrong and the nosecone is small and pointed for a Locost. I don't think you'd get an engine and radiator in there.
0.3 is unachievable with an open wheeled car .
Caterham have made improvements with their latest car. Inboard suspension and a modified cycle wing have helped.
Also no matter how much you want to reduce drag, i'd put a proper roll bar on the car. Low drag and dead is not much use!

not bad for first attempt though - don't give up your day job though!!! 
I would think that to achieve a cd of .3 you would need to enclose the wheels pretty much completely, and then do lots of other work too - very few production solutions get this low.
Didn't cateringham nearly bankrupt themself's trying to improve the 7 design?
Just remember something on the telly about it.....
best solution I would have thought is the fury/ginetta type shape

I'm in the process of modelling an entire car using a CAd package called ProDesktop. I've done the chassis and am now assembling the wishbones and diff. Only taken me 34 hours so far. Looks go when you rotate it on screen though !
