Hi everyone,
I want to know if it is possible to wire a zone vavle in my central heating system, but only on a switch.
I bought a small heat exchanger to heat our above ground pool and I want to be able to turn the vavle between heating and pool manually.
Is this possible?
Ideally, I want to be able to flick something like a light switch and divert the boiler heating water to the exchanger
Thanks
Dan
Yes. Make sure that you have a diverter valve rather than a mid-position valve. Water will flow from inlet to one outlet when un-powered and the other
outlet when powered. Use the lightswitch to switch power to the valve and use the microswitch on the valve to switch the pump and boiler on
continuously when it is switched over. When unpowered, the flow can go to the rest of the central heating system as normal.
Maybe worth fitting a timer to limit the run time in case it accidentally gets turned on and left for weeks!

Thanks Steve,
Good idea on the timer.
