Stop being so SHY!

Wouldn't it be nice if more of the members were to put a little more info about themselves in their profiles. I would suggest a location at the very minimum, and if they are building anything at the moment perhaps they could mention that as well.

All you need to do is to click on 'your control panel' at the top of the page, and and then 'edit profile'

You never know,it might turn out that someone in a nearby street is building a car, and has loads of tools they would be willing to lend you, or maybe they might need your help

the only cautionary tale I would give is WHY would you want to put all that personal stuff on the net?

I have got into scrapes on TOL with wassocks, and I wouldnt really want to give people more info on me than I really had to. Who wants the guy you didnt agree with on suspension design coming to your doorstep uninvited

To be really paranoid, anyone on the net could come round and nick your stuff outta the garage in the daytime. A mate of mine went to buy a bike, but couldnt. It had been nicked the night before by theives who got the address by calling up the guy in response to his ad. Came in the night and there is was gone.

'How to build a car for nothing by nicking all the good bits off the net'.

NO I dont mean giving your name address and phone number!!!!! I meant something along the lines of

Sidsomeperson

Somecounty

building somelocost

then if another reader thought they wanted to get in touch they could email, or U2U and take it from there.

Quite often the answers a poster might wish to give woulds depend on where the oroginal questioner lives, no good suggesting a good source of ally sheet in eg Notts to someone who turns out to live in Alabama

well, you have my real name, (not a nick as 95% have on here) the area I live in and a picture! I may have mentioned once the kinda car im building too

the problem with the 'building' bit by the pic is its too damn small to get anything descriptive in.

Well, for that to work you are going to have to fill in the 'location' part of your profile, then other posters can see how far they are going to have to drive in order to meet you (wearing a red carnation and carrying a copy of RC's book?)

Referring to me then are you? Bliidy good job there's a few geographical obstacles between us, or I'd come and trounce your Locost in your garage, the address of which I've recently gleaned off the net.
There's an imposter on this list with a big grin, using my real name, and that's why I frequently use a nickname.:
BTW, my inside leg is 36", and I prefer red to white wine.
How do you get your pic/avatar up here anyway, I can't seem to be able to do it? (ATBSTTA)
