Hi Chaps

I have recently purchased a Pug 306 1.9 Diesel. (Non Turbo)

Problem is the temp has slowly got hotter and hotter. Air is leaking from the expansion cap.

Question: Is Air being forced into the system from the head gasket? There appears to be no evidence of a head gasket failure eg. no water in oil etc.

I know these beasts are a sod to fill up the coolant with as there are three bleed screws and the expansion bottle is BELOW the highest point

Anyone got experience of these cars?

Any advice greatly appreciated.

no experiance with 306's but ive had cars with air being forced from the expansion cap before that dont have head gasket failures id suggest simply an air lock and if its been passed to you in this condition my be consider emptying the colalnt out and starting again

HAD A PROBLEM WITH MINE (IS A TURBO ONE) THE TEMPERATURE SENSOR DOWN ON THE BOTTOM RIGHT AS YOU ARE IN FRONT OF THE CAR. CORRODED BADLEY AND WITHN A WEEK OF TEMP GUAGE GOING UP DAMAGED THE RAD..

So far it seems it may be a leak in the bleed screw on top of the radiator.

Had the rad checked for exhaust fumes which proved negative.
