My dog of a 406 needs an MOT within a month, and has a couple of electrical gremlins with the airbag and the wipers.
After some good fixing advice from this site, I had a fish around to see if it is an MOT requirement to have functioning airbags - seems it is not.
Problem 1 sorted - ignore.
The wipers are a different matter, I have no automatic park, no intermittent and no 'top' speed. I thought this would be a fail, but could
find no definative answer.
So I found www.ukmot.com. I asked a question by email, and got a personal reply in about an hour. On a Sunday. At lunchtime, and when the GP was
on. What excellent service, and the answer was good news too - PASS as long as they clear the windscreen!
I can now concentrate my efforts on the hand(doesn't)brake.
Excellent website.

my 406 has a recent glitch with the computer screen. The back light has gone, the date and time forgotten, and it no longer remembers if the stereo should be on or not when you start the engine! Damned french cars...
Ahhh Peugeot electrics, don't ya just love them
The engine warning light came on on my wife's 306 HDi last week. Took it the dealer to get the fault code read...."Sorry sir, the ECU has
recorded a total of 4 faults, including throttle postion sensor, clutch pedal switch (?), cam position sensor and fuel pressure"
Result? Dealer doesn't know what to do, so cleared the faults and said wait and see what happens - BRILLIANT!
Car seems to run fine though....
Good luck with the MOT by the way
Cheers
Nick
In the annoying electrics category, the interior blower nearly always defaults to 'auto', which cocks up the idle due to a very pronounced
switching in demand from the alternator.
Scary electrics, smooth drive though - and cheap for what you can get.
Thanks for the good luck message, it will be needed.
Ever since i crossed the terminals on my pug 306 battery, I've had an airbag warning light. To correct it I simply disconnected the battery for half an hour and it solved the problem. Have you tried this yet...the flashing light gets very annoying!
