Hope a decent manufacturer buys this

May be old news, but would make a very nice project if a good builder picks it up.

I was about to ask that, but realized that it's not the entire project that's for sale, it's an individual car.

The Hyabusa transaxle is prob just a chain drive diff and engine cradle.

Quaife do one for the Hayabusa with a reverse built in but it's not cheap.

did that num nuts on the programme "a kit car is born" have one?

cossey - 15/5/06 at 07:40 PM

your thinking of kit car crisis but that was a muffet not quaife. the quaife one is used by radical i think

Was gonna bid on it, (out of work/no project). and its 15mins down the road from me.
Has been won by a locostbuilders member.

And got a bargain I reckon.

Steve Turner got it for £510, if he can't do something with it nobody can. He'll probably put his ZX12 engine in it or cut the roof off to fit on his track car . See here.

wait and see...

spunky - 17/5/06 at 08:51 AM

Glad I didn't bid against you then. Having already built a BEC middy I would probably just put dummy bones and slave wheels on it and dragged it up the road to Newark show to make a quick profit.

Congratulations on your new purchase.

John

It isn't going to be a BEC, that's one thing I know...

tadltd - 24/5/06 at 11:20 PM

Just picked it up (700 mile round trip!) - looks very impressive. I'll do a detailed inspection in the morning, but I was relieved to learn that it takes standard Lotus Elise parts (windows, etc.)

Watch this space...
