ive only got 1/2 meg broadband as im on a new estate and the phone line is through fibre optic so apparently thats the best i can get will it work ok?

You need the network adaptor if you don't have the latest slimline PS2.

Once connected - it's ok - but not as good as Xbox live or Xbox 360 live.

512mb broadband will be enough - 99% of games are tested with 256k as min requirement.
