Heh, The PB project 250 would wee over it though. 1300cc Hyabusa, IIRC his 251mph something like 700bhp. On top of that it still looks pretty much like a regular bike.

Something like 700 bhp from a 1300 cc engine ain't bad, espesh as, AFAIK the bike is around 250 kg wet so thats a nice power to weight ratio.

That was one of the reasons I never bought an R1. Too slow, as you're forever trying to keep the front wheel down.
