Anyone have any idea where these little Legend stock cars are built? I'm thinking UK rather than importing but there must be someone out there doing these.

At first glance SVA should be easier than a 7, assuming you can figure out a good way to mount lights and fit sensible wheels and tyres.

Check with the missus first!!!

I thought wheels had to be completely covered?

also if youve got the shape for a window is one then required???????

The rear arches would have to be widened but the front wheels could be quite skinny. Would look awesome in black!!

The driver I used to run in Formula Palmer Audi used to race legends. He reckons you can do your first season for a lot less than £20k

If you manage to get a 2nd hand car that has been raced in the series before it will cost you alot less. Also you wouldnt have to make the modifications yourself.

Have a look on some race car sale websites.

If I remember correctly, the legends are all the same basic chassis with a choice of bodies to fit over it. All miniature 30's-style shapes.

Hugely entertaining to watch - but I wouldn't like to try getting into one!

that is right Dave. They also use a yamaha aircooled 1100 engine which gets a bit hot under the collar, could be an issue on the road, not to mention being good ol' USofA out of date technology!!

Chassis are super-basic too.

You could build a lot better yourself I think!

exactly there very basic and say no more there a rip off at that price compared to our 7 BEC cars

I wouldnt expect to pay anymore for that kind of kit as I did for my MK

give or take a bit as thats got a full body but the chassis and suspension set up are real bog standard

I'm sure I saw a program that had a 'presenter having a go' feature on them a few years back, looked a lot of fun.

I agree they are horribly overpriced for what they are, even with double cost for bodywork they should be around £3k for a kit. But they probably fall between the hotrod and kit markets in styling so might not sell very well for the road.

The Finn's race them on snow which is quite mad

Wasn't it Murial Grey the short haired blond Scotish woman? They raced the cars on a beach and she knackered the car she was driving. It was blue i seem to remember. I have it on tape somwhere.

Quite possibly, I seem to remember it was a woman presenter who killed either the clutch or the gearbox. Thought it was on a racetrack, but if you have the video...
