Very nice but it is certainly not the only high performance electric car. The Fetish has been around for about a year now and has similar performance & range.

How much is it?

There's an MK Indy that's electric powered - 0-60 3 secs and 150mph top speed. Should be about £16k according to Total Kitcar.

It's a Ditch setup, but apparent;y MK can sort out the parts to make it work (might be tempted for my next project!)

Confused but excited. - 19/11/06 at 07:47 PM

The big plus is that it's quite enough not to wake the pigs in the layby as you whizz past.

Only draw back, as I see it, if you go somewhere say 200 miles away, you would have to book an hotel for an over night recharge. Sort of makes dear, cheap motoring. Ray

Apparently they reckon that 1 mile = 1 minute of charging. Just a case of getting parking & charging combined really.

Good article @ RaceCarEngineering about an electric Westfield being developed by
ex-Lotus & Saxon engineer.

jono_misfit - 20/11/06 at 06:51 PM

The articles about martin oglvie.

He's only really done the westfield as a precursor to his new single seater. Theres so many battery packs in the car theres no passenger space.

Should be interesting.

However they need something with greater charge density to really make a big push forward with electric cars.

I always thought the tesla looked like a fat elise.

From a recent article on the Eco Indy, it reckons on a range of only 25 miles! It would do for a pub cruise event though.

the moment they come practical i will get one, i love the idea of charging it overnight and having nearly free motoring.

The tesla was co-developed with Lotus tecnologies which explains its similarity to the Elise.
Personally i think it looks nicer than the Elise.
