Whats the difference between and "built in" and a "built under" oven?? They look the same.
We is after a new one. MIne is built into the unit with the hob in the work surface??
built in is within a carcase, built under is usually between two units floor standing and under worktop.Be careful when ordering as the terminology is
not universal...look at appliance dimensions.
Ex kitchen designer/appliance sales
Built-under is designed to fit underneath a worktop.
Built-in is normally fitted into a taller cabinet.
Go for built in, beats the hell out of crawling round the floor to check your dinner isn't burning.
Steve.
Built-under
Built-in
As already mentioned, terminology not universal - check dimension. I have a devil of a time finding a reasonably priced built-under over with separate
oven and grill.
Cheers chaps mine is built under then. It isnt floor standing though??
A bloke i work with told me too look on ebay. Theres loads on there for good prices.

i think the term isnt universal. I use both for either. The key is that some double ovens are 560mm wide, and fit inside a cabinet. There is sometimes
a height difference between ones that go in larder units and ones that fit under the worktop (base unit ones will be 720mm tall, larder ones are up to
870mm).
Other ovens are 600mm wide, these only go under the worktop and require a unit or panel on both sides, because it slides onto a pair of metal brackets
that are screwed onto adjoining units. I detest these ones, the brackets often flex leaving it unlevel, and it doesnt screw back as well as the ones
inside a unit.
When im designing peoples kitchens i usually persuade them to have an eye level oven with the hob somewhere else. Its more convinient IMHO.
