Just a hiya!
Spottty - 16/6/03 at 09:18 PM

Well, I just got back from the UK (very nice place!) where I picked up 'the book' and instantly got hooked! There doesnt seem to be much of a 7 following here in Canada but i'm sure I can change that!

Well, not much to say really, just a hello. So 'Hello!'

Hey Spottty,

You may want to join the Locost North America list on Yahoo too.........

Lots of your countrymen on there doing all sorts of crazy things...

Spottty - 17/6/03 at 12:11 AM

Hey thats probly a good idea! didn't know there was one!

As for the going crazy part, I'm trying to keep this a locost not lifesavingscost project

Spottty - 17/6/03 at 01:17 AM

Justed checked out the yahoo group, looks cool but the style the board is in drivers me nuts!!

Mind if I hang around here?

David Jenkins - 17/6/03 at 07:41 AM

Well....

...we do have our standards, you know!

Oh, OK then, if you're good.

David

(only joking - welcome aboard!)

Metal Hippy - 17/6/03 at 09:57 AM

Dave, I reckon being in here has taken its toll on you.

You're starting to be rude now, albeit jokingly...

David Jenkins - 17/6/03 at 10:03 AM

Me??

Never...

David

Spottty,

There's a Rotary engined Canadian Locost already in existence. I've seen the website (someone may have the link) and it's even got a vid' of him shooting round a track. The engine sound is very cool.

Cheers,

James

Spottty - 18/6/03 at 03:41 PM

Ohh Cool thanks!! I havn't been able to find it and I have been looking for a good rotary locost site!

btw, I really wish I lived in the UK just for the cars!! We don't have anything like the Elise or VX220(?) all we have are econo boxes for reasonable money :/ I really wish we could get the Clio V6 here, Ya I know its not the greatest car but it would be very unique!!

Alan B - 18/6/03 at 03:44 PM

I think it's this one...

Peteff - 19/6/03 at 09:49 AM

I read somewhere that they don't allow 2 stroke engines in Canada, what kind of people are they? Only in chainsaws.

yours, Pete.

fastenuff - 19/6/03 at 08:09 PM

sorry pete but the wankel/rotary engine is a 4 stroke IMSR
have to go through my library of car and tech mag's to be sure

Spottty - 19/6/03 at 08:46 PM

Ya I think its a 4 stroke too. I have never heard a 2 stroke on the road here but I heard a few in London.

Anyone know the weight of a Wankel compared to a normal 4 cyl?

Peteff - 19/6/03 at 09:10 PM

So they probably don't allow any other hooligan type motors. Wankel are definitely 4 stroke type engines I remember them from NSU RO 80 years ago. They were very unreliable in those days though.

yours, Pete.
