Hi all
I am trying to change the front disks on my Hyundai Lantra and can't work out how to remove the hubs.
Any help would be appreciated.

Why do you want to take the hubs off?
Surely its just a matter of removing the calipers and taking the discs off?

no - car designers do realise basic maintenance needs to happen, its just their bosses want jobs to cost a certain amount so they can offset the lower
price of hte car with higher servicing costs.
(call me cynical if you want).
All recent cars (10 year or younger) that I have seen don't need the hub to be removed to replace the disc.
As mentioned before you need to remove the caliper. Sometimes the disc is attached to the hub with one or two screws. I probably will have rusted to
the hub so it might need some motivation to get loose...
My experience is that car manufacturers actually make cars quite servicable. It's cheaper for them to produce, less maintance cost makes their
cars more attractive in cost per km and most important; they need to be serviced safely by 17 year old kids who have received a maximum of 1 hour
training. If they can make easy mistakes that reduce safety the manufacturer will bu sued!

If only it was that simple, I once changed the disks on a Rover (800 ?) and needed to remove the hubs first !

never done disks on a lantra but on the coupe they do indeed need the hub removed to seperate the disks as they are bolted on to the hub, IMHO it is a
truely crap idea. have a nice time, and good luck
Not as bad as some caravans and trailers, according to my dad the latest Alko axles need the entire stub axle unbolting from the inside in order to get the drum off, and to top it off, the stub axle is eccentrically mounted so by unbolting it, you screw up the tracking and need to realign it afterwards!

Just spoken to a mate who reckons that the wheel bearings usually fall apart when the hubs are removed.
So I will take it to my tame local mechanic on Monday.
Disconnect the bottom ball joint, remove the hub nut, pull the hub of the shaft (may need persuading with a large knocking stick), remove brake
caliper, remove track rod end, undo the two bolts holding the hub to the leg, press the drive flange out from the back and the disc can then be
unbolted from the drive flange. Grind the broken inner race off the drive flange and bolt the new disc on. Press the remains of the broken wheel
bearing out of the hub.
Rebuilding is just the reverse of striping but make sure you support the inner race when pressing the drive flange disc assembly back in or you will
need to start again with an other new bearing.
When complete start the other side.
You will need a press
Labour time allowed 2 hours for the pair

Wasn't the case on the 800 I had.
