From two bikers today......
Just on way too a pistonheads meet, two bikes behind, could see sparks coming off there knees as I left then on a roundabout, they where just about
too show me what for as we went up slip road onto A38 as I caught a glimpse of plod, managed too flag them too slow down before they came past, big
thumbs up form both of them, pulled me up in a layby and had a right good chin wag.......
Talking of Piston heads, there is a local meeting Tuesday night if anyone's interested ? Amber Hotel, nice back road drive pub type
affair......... North Derbyshire, anyone ?
Sadly the view I had of a biker today was much different.
...in an ambulance after he'd left a person sized dent in the side of a transit
They really are death traps on today's roads...

It's not allways the rider, defitnitley not the bike, but is it not a good feeling ,when you get the thumbs up from a biker, or is it just me.

I'm afraid it is not bikes which are death traps it's doddery old buggers and people who think they are o.k. as they sit in a tin box.
Any bikers amongst us please be careful.

biker myself and most of the time like you say its the ones in the tin boxes that are the problem.
in my view everyone these days should be made to ride a bike before driving a car as most car drivers just dont look out for us bikes but if they rode
bikes first like me they know what its like and look out alot more , know several bikers who think exactly the same.

I too agree that young uns in cars are sh!t drivers.
I used to be a biker until a chav in a blinged up 206gti overtook the car in front of him, who incidentally had slowed down indicating to turn
right....
Big problem for me anyway, as I was coming the other way. Hit the tw*t head on. I was off work 5 weeks and he got off with a driver course.
Anyway, the compo paid for me new MNR

Cheeky beggars
Not all young drivers are bad drivers. There are just some who get too cocky and dont pay attention for whatever reason couple this with lack of
experience and you often end up with a disaster. I was taught to treat every other driver on the road as an idiot, and I do.
Having said that, out of the people I was mates with at college (4 or 5 other people) I am the only one who hasnt hit something, either another
vehicle or an inanimate object. And all these times its been down to lack of attention (mates, music, showing off, whatever) or lack of experience.
I often get cheery waves from bikers, usually for moving over to let the pass safely.
I know a lot of bikers, and have great respect for anyone willing to get on two wheels with the state of some of the driving that you see!

been riding for 5 years now (not long i know) but still learning and you have to be aware of everyone around you like in a car.
like Flakmonkey im the only one i know that hasnt hit something i never have been one for following the crowd like all my mates. its just a shame they
dont care about there driving and end up hurting someone
i move across when in the car too, 1, im slower and 2 its better they get past when im expecting it, the only ones i dont move across for are the ones
that i see behind me coming up behind me and passing all the cars behind way too fast (the idiots that need practice)
Don't be so quick to jump to the bikers aid, it was a 30 limit road and he must have been doing over twice that, round a blind bend - transit
would never have seen him.

Perhaps it's the transit that was the death trap!

so hopefully that guy will learn his lesson and if not it will happen again and hopefully he wont hurt anyone else.
but even so not all bikers are death traps as you put it it is just the minority that and idiots thats give us that ride obaying speed limits and give
others plenty of room (just really being sensible) a bad name
