Where in yorkshire sells car - full face helmets so i can try before i buy, i can't find anywhere just a lot of bike ones!
Can anyone help? Yorkshire, pref north yorkshire,
cheers matt
Try any bike shop - Hein Gericke on Blossom Street, or the one down Walmgate have a good selection.
I bought mine from Rufforth for £20, fits fine and has all the right accreditations.
I'm prepared to bet that's a bike helmet not a car helmet

Rufforth auto jumble, first sat in every month
There's not a lot of difference between car and bike helmets for what you'll need - unless you're planning on Hans Pillars or built in
intercoms (both very expensive).
You'll usually find some form of sale on particular helmets in bike shops too (Infinity were selling a range particularly cheap least time I was
there).
The helmet I got from Rufforth auto jumble is OK, not the best and I'll replace it eventually with something a bit nicer, but for £20 it's
good enough for now.
If you just want a visor bracket and don't go above 70mph yes, but there are lots of subtle and not so subtle differences between car and bike
helmets, and if you're spending £300 plus you'll want the right one.
Aerodynamics (you have to dip your chin when using a a bike helmet when seated in a car or it tries to pull off at high speed)
Safety - as David Jenkins posted on another thread.
Car helmet: designed to be rattled hard a number of times off the roll cage and then if car catches fire it stops your head getting cooked while you
get out of the straps.
Bike helmet: designed for a big thump and a long scrape along the road. You're expected to be a long way from the bike if it goes bang.
