Ive been fortunate to visit the Gibbs UK HQ about 18 months ago and seen the Aquada and ATV being prototyped. Ive been taken out in an Aquada - quite an amazing bit of kit.

They also have a huge amphibious 4x4 vehicle - fairly well suited to military use.

For years i wondered what / who Gibbs Technologies where. Then they rebraned to Gibbs Aqua and a week later ....... lots of stuff in the news about this new car!!!

Drive past them most days but you never see anything coming out of the factory / driving around Nuneaton

When you drive in, to the right is the main reception. To the left is the main car park. All the way over to the left is an outside water tank that they sometimes do bouyancy tests in. They also own a lake nearby for full testing but im not sure exactly where that is. The Nuneaton place is rather large inside. I think though its not big enough for volume nmanufacture. Once the R&D is done they will most likely be built elsewhere. I did here the biggest ATV market will be in the US so makes sense for them to be nuilt there.

Ive read a great article in motoring magazine about when Alan Gibbs took an Aquade to Monte Carlo in his Yacht. It has been constructed with a garage so the car can drive in and out whilst still in deep water. They were watching the F1 from the water. Very amazing stuff. Certainly in a rich mans market.
