First of all if anyone has a cheap phone on 3 pls pm asap as i need one today. must be cheap and local.

Just wondering whether anyone will know the answer to this question.
Basically i've been on 3 network for about 15 months or so on a 18 month contract. I decided yesterday to go to change my phone and network and pay the remainder of my 3 contract up and get a pac code to transfer my number across to my new phone.

I rang 3 who tried really hard to keep me on with them but i've had too much hassle with them to even think about it. I got my pac code off them as was told my network would remain active until my new supplier (orange) used the code to swap my number over. As soon as i had the code i called orange and gave them the code and the lady said that the number will be swapped over on the 22nd of this month. And that was the end of it- or so i thought.

I went out on my bike and left my old phone at home switched off. When i returned about 3 hours later the phone switches on but has a purple screen and doesn't appear to be working. It switches on or off ok but the screen does't show anything thats happening. However i can still recieve mtext messages but cant read them.

My question is can 3 somehow have sabotaged my phone in some way? And what can i do?

oh and does anyone have a 3 phone i can buy today so i canread my messages and stuff till my number gets swapped over on the 22nd. its needs to be cheap and local ish to chesterfield.

Can't you put your sim in an unlocked phone and do the same thing?

id go to a phone shop and get them to have a look - they are sure to have spare phones lying around to test it with.

i'm sorted now got a crappy nec phone for timebeing.. 3 sim cards only work in 3 phones.

Was it a motorola V3X? Same thing happened to me.
