I bet the neighbours just LOVE the first one!
Lovely noise from the other one though...

No need for two if you can make one do the job well enough in the first place
It will probably be exciting enough with one engine, mind you a bloody customer will be wanting me to sell it to them once its out in the wild. Ours will look almost identical to this.

About time someone produced a fibreglass body kit .
ahem, yep I do need two engines, either that or make it weigh under 300kg, which I can't do within the regs.................
there pics were taken a long time ago, much progress has been made now. Just about to actually get on to ordering two DTA S60 ECU's to run the
engines..........
Should make 300hp fairly easily, and I certainly won't make the power to weight with one engine without lightening my cage much more than I would
want to given the proximity of the post and wire fence!!
Hoping to hit an all-up weight of 580kg, but I fear it'll be a smidge over 600 when its done.....I can still lift the front by hand (juuusstt! )
at the moment though.
Certainly much lighter than a std 126, got one outside waiting as a spare shell donor and its much heavier even without doors or interior. Just got my
Kirkey ally seat for christmas which is nice, thanks mum and dad!!
shell on rear corner
shell on front
shell on side
6th march progress
cut fiat 2

oooh ps rules don't alloy forced induction on bike engines, otherwise obviously I would be using a rotrex on a single bike engine.
C'mon, get some more pics posted!
p.s. I have Kirkeys in my Striker - they're grand!
Ok, long delay as usual with me, but actually took some pics over christmas, even if I didn't actually get much done!!!
Note there's only one engine in it at the moment as the other was getting in the way!!
The arches at the front obviously need some finishing and there are side sills to go on yet that span between the front and rear arches.
Fiat 1 engine Dec 07
Fiat bootspace Dec 07
Fiat footwell Dec 07
Fiat OS Dec 07
Fiat rear corner Dec 07
Looking fantastic Nat.
Is that one of those Recaro baby seats in there
The links are great. First one is obviously work in progress. Hope they improve the brakes. Petrol tank may be restrictive
The little racers and other links on you tube are awesome. Cant wait to see a vid of Nats car in action now.
heh heh have plans on that one as well!!
buying one of those ATC 2000 cameras to get some in car footage
PS the job is taking a long time because with the weight of the rather robust chassis frame, I'm trying to chop out all the unneccesary bits of
original bodyshell.
This has been speeded up a lot by the aquisition of the plasma cutter!!!
looks like its gonna be a beast when done. where did you get the archs rolled.
adam
lol the outer bits are steel trailer arches cut in half, welded to rolled 1mm steel sheet that I joggled after rolling to get the join flat (ish!!
)
I rolled the flat bits myself in my small set of rolls.
Same things used for rolling tanks etc
