just a brief message to say "hey".
Since my early school days (over 2 decades ago now) i've been interested in building a "Locost" and or Lotus 7 rep.
Currently I'm restoring a mK1 €scort...
and I've gathered a variety of bit's for..My mK1'S AND mk2 €scorts...(of which I've got a few)

My Locost build will be a slow one as I've a garge to build yet..

please feel free to sugest and threads that I should view as a "NEWBE" to the site and Locost building.

why? thats where all the looneys hang out

do you have the orignal escort based book? Thats your best bet as it will use most of the parts you already have. You don't need a very large engine in these cars, a 1300 is plenty fun.

Welcome, in my head I would love to own a Mk1 Escort but the rust and restoration required is beyond me. If your good at restoring monoquoc shells then a Locost or kit is dead easy IMHO

So next project for me is a Saxo with RWD Ford components to make a budget blaster

HAVE A LOOK ...Welding and paint been outsourced....
not garage built..and 2 year old boy to keep me busy...

Got a mould for a bubble arched GRP front end if you need one making up!

1.8 zetec with a homemade inlet manifold running ZX9R E carbs, Ford Edis with Megajolt

I'm going down to Boggs Brothers next week for a rolling road carb tune

No. Whippy was talking about the 1300 crossflow made by Ford not the 1300 Hayadrya made by Suzuki and fitted to their overweight commuter bike. The suzuki engine is fine for a short distance shopping bike ( too uncomfortable to go far on and useless offroad), but christ it doesn't even have a reverse and probably slurps more fuel than a crossflow.
