Can have phone in the baby bit !

Sent me home, they aren't doing anything for now She's having her waters broken in the morning which is when i go back in.

Boys run in the family.. so next one will probably be another boy

Not these days. Having spent plenty of time in a hospital over the past 4 weeks it seems the limits are very relaxed now. Fine using my mobile right outside Coronary Care with all the machines!!!

Best of luck to Ben and family

liam.mccaffrey - 24/10/08 at 02:41 AM

in the states there are no phone rules, i made numerous calls when i was hooked up in intensive care

iank - 24/10/08 at 03:44 AM

Firstly good luck.

On the subject of phones, it does seem to matter a lot in certain places in the hospital (Xray/Scanners unit in my experience) as they get really grumpy with people using them nearby at least in the Newcastle General.

I'm all for the ban if it prevents muppets spending the whole day on the ward shouting 'I'M IN THE HOSPITAL, NO THE HOSPITAL' to random friends/relatives. Same as on planes, but sadly it's mostly about extracting large amounts of money from the TV/Phone things when people call in (£1 a minute or something insane).

When I was in the nurses used to disappear off into the toilets with their mobiles on occasion.

maartenromijn - 24/10/08 at 06:37 AM

Good luck with the baby!

richardh - 24/10/08 at 08:01 AM

good luck
its a great experience (at least for us guys that don't have the pain)

Ben_Copeland - 24/10/08 at 08:21 AM

Well we're in the labour suite now. shes got about an hour and half. 11.15 I think. Then she's going on the drip to bring on contractions! ouch

Dangle_kt - 24/10/08 at 09:11 AM

Ben, My wife had exactly the same process.

It ended with an emergency cisarian after the jiuce they put in her arm made the contractions so strong she asked for an epidural and then couldnt feel to push.

It will be exhausting for your Mrs, so whenever you get chance, get your head down. She will need as much support as she can get after being induced - even if it goes well, and you being knackered wont help.

All the best!

You make it sound like the bloke's doing all the hard work!

I know what you mean though - I was there when both of my kids were born. I'm eternally grateful that it wasn't me lying there...

chris_smith - 24/10/08 at 12:26 PM

my thoughts are with you both, my wife seems to have a knack all were born within 30mins of starting labour one was in such a rush to get out she ended up on the living room floor

anyway good luck once again

matt.c - 24/10/08 at 05:00 PM
