Been to Bradford today. Drove down the M606 for a short way before joining the M62. Roundabout up ahead with traffic lights. Traffic wasnt heavy at
all. i had to turn left so was in left lane. i saw a picture of a car on the road with "2+" wrote inside it. Hadnt seen that before, didnt
know what it meant. Before long i realised the lane was for cars with 2 or more people inside. By then i couldnt move out so had to proceed. i joined
M62 and moved across asap. Noticed some cameras above road just ahead.
Long story for quick question. Are they actively doing people for using this lane as i did - one person in car - or is it only at certain times or
done as a trial.
Being from up north we are lucky to get tarmac on the roads let alone funny little paintings!
just plead you had the kids in the back or the missus in the boot
Say you had the wife and kids locked in the boot.
Edit: Bah, seconds too late.

I never thought of that. Knowing my luck they will have multiple views inside the car and even know what radio station i was listening to.

you need one of these -

Very useful indeed. Thanks for that. Looks like police are using an observation platform! Oh dear.
Has anyone been done on that stretch?
I heard the penalty was death but I maybe wrong

This article suggests they are using skin counting infra red cameras! It suggest a £30 fine in one part and £60 and 3 points in another bit.

You are wrong they can't fleece anymore money out of us when we are dead.

Tell them you were shagging at the time, hence the single "hot spot".

That's just down the road from where I work. They're monitored by cameras, and they're 24 hour restricted, not just rush hour.
Whether they're as vigilant during the day I don't know.
Any signs warning beforehand Darren?? If not you could at least argue the logic of how the F are you supposed to see the sign under a car (Always been a pet hate of mine whether it's lane markings or whatever)
There are road signs on the side too. I just didnt know what it was all about until too late but as we know negligence is no excuse for the law even
if they are newly created and not as well known outside the area.
Of course i had a small child in car immediately behind me if Ruth Kelly etc is reading this!
I live nearby and use the M606 about 5 or 6 times a week, the lane is well posted so you can't miss it. I'm reasonably sure they are
24hr.
On a positive note, the 50mph speed camera's are not on the M606 but on the M62 Sliproad.
This chap didn't get away with it
Good luck
is the sign in the highway code ive never seen it if not then how are you supposed to know what it means?
i did that a while ago, the roundabout was congested but the left lane was empty, as i went tramming down the 2+ lane i saw the roundabout was busy
cos two police cars were blocking it! I took the corner so hard/racing line that by the time i passed the camera i was in the right lane anyway.
Spared a finger for cops and camera, never heard owt about it.
I think its F*****G outrageous that lane. Some prick at the highways planning dept doesnt realise that people cant change their driving habits, people
cant just magic someone up to carshare, and multiple occupancy cars do not have priority. So after spending millions of our money upgrading the
junction, its all for nothing as 90% of cars cant use it.

Or you could get a muppet!

Linky dinky Have a look at page 141 HOV lanes! In fact, have a look at the rest of
the document - I found it quite enlightening. I didn't even know that we now have puffin and toucan crossings! Nice to know that we now have 147
pages worth of types of sign and road markings in this country.

It was signposted and i was in the wrong, there is no question. i didnt notice the first sign (i dont think). It was the markings on the road that i
noticed first. Later i saw the blue sign but couldnt move over by then. It was just one of those occasions where it was all new and took a while for
me to register if i was doing anything wrong or not as i hadnt seen that type of lane before.
Guess ill just have to wait and see if i hear anything in the post. To make matters worse i was in a hire car so might take a while for any post (if
it is coming) will arrive as i guess it will go to the hire company first. It will be just my luck that i will get it a day after needing to pay the
fine and end up getting a bigger penalty.

I'd say the meaning was pretty clear:

And yes, it is in the highway code. As drivers it is our responsibility to keep up to date with new regulations. I'd be more pissed off if they wasted millions posting updates to every licence holder when most drivers would already know anyway.
